hot coffee or how to compete with starbucks

Competing with Starbucks is one of the toughest challenges in the business world.

Influx wrote recently about how beverage giants Nestle and Coca-Cola were tackling the green giant.

Now it looks at though independent operators in the Pacific Northwest might have found Starbucks' achilles heel.

The Seattle Times reports that these operators are achieving a lot of success by focusing on the barista, not the coffee.

Quite simply, they are using sex to sell, by staffing the stands with scantily clad, super hot, young female baristas, business is booming.

Everyone appears to be happy, the guys who are paying $4 for a cup and expect for that money to be served by an attractive female barista and the girls are pulling in huge tips.

Cowgirls Espresso is one of the leaders in this emerging category.

Needless to say, these stands probably aren?t attracting a ton of female customers.
