Mobile banking has been promised for years, but one of the first countries to adopt the technology is not one of those mentioned above, but Kenya, on the continent of Africa.
Kenya has one of the fastest rates of mobile adoption anywhere in the world, with 8 million of its 35 million citizens now owning a phone, just 7 years ago, there were only 15,000.
Now, thanks to the M-Pesa service, Kenyans can send and recieve money using SMS messages.
Who could have imagined that Kenya would have SMS money transfer before the US?
