Most ideas relating to crowds and journalism are all about turning the "crowd" into the journalist.

Spot.us is very different, it's about experienced journalists working for the crowd.

Here's what happens with Spot...

1. A crowd of people pick a topic they want investigated..

2. They fund the reporter at say $20/head

3. Once the project/topic reaches $2,500 in donations, a reporter is assigned and the research begins

Sounds like a radical new way to get the journalism that many of us have been missing.
