They achieved massive success with the Gorilla, something a little more tepid with the airport trucks racing around to a Queen soundtrack and now this "Eyebrow" dancing.
It seems like they are back on track.
Here are 9 reasons why..
1. They managed to capture people's imagination with the Gorilla, people are prepared to look at Cadbury's stuff- huge advantage-
2. They have blogs like Influx ready to share the content
3. It's unexpected and strange
4. There's a human connection- unlike the trucks
5. It can spawn derivatives- people can try this themselves and post videos
6. It has replay and share value
7. It still fits the very broad brief of "Joy"
8. Like Gorilla, the production here is flawless
9. They are running the spot on TV to gain mass traction

I think the main reason why it is a hit is that they keep telling the nice, original and authentic story they started with gorilla.

Early 80's hip hop culture
I think the appeal is mainly that it taps into the publics seemingly never ending love affair with early 80?s and especially early hip-hop culture which has really stood the test of time, constantly being used in commercial imagery, from break dancing, to graffiti art, trainers and beat boxing, this period in our cultural history has really hit a spot with people all over the world. This advert uses references to that time in the form of the retro looking digital watch, the electro sound track and (body) popping eye brows.

It appears you don't have Flash installed.

Its the human connection- unlike the trucks that makes this ad not worth watching. It is not in any way as good as the to previous ones. This is really bad comedy/witty advertising and it should be detested like the plague.
