New Nokia research shows that the Media Messaging Services (MMS) market is set to take off. MMS offers photo messaging, video/audio clips and mobile internet access to users with specially equipped cell phones. The research suggests MMS will supplement, not replace, SMS and other text-based messaging. Japanese trends suggest that once MMS is widely adopted in the US, it will create demand for much richer content services, and therefore a new specialized media landscape.
