Wes Anderson's new movie, The Life Aquatic, is spot on with its 70s trend with a twist references. In typical Anderson style, the movie provides enough of a visual feast to make any art director drool. It has so much detail, that much of it will be missed on first viewing.

There's the technology that almost plays the role of an additional character, from large monotone computer screens through to a variety of intercoms. This movie is bound to do wonders for the sales of retro-modern technologies like the Pokia

In wardrobe, the retro Adidas style from the Royal Tenenbaums is back, with team tracksuits and even Adidas Zissou brand sneakers.
Then there's the music, late 70s David Bowie sung in Portuguese by a Brazilian.

Finally, it now appears that thanks to the miracle of capitalism, custom-made Adidas Zissou's are now for sale via your friendly E-Bay online store and sneakerheads are making their own DIY Adidas Zissou's.

It looks like custom made might be the only way to go.The story continues as bloggers and consumers press Adidas to make the shoe. Adidas claim its not in their hands and that consumers need to pressure the retail trade. Consumer power at its finest, but interestingly this power counts for nothing, if it can't change established business practices and structures, that inhibit rapid response. (Via PSFK)
