Many brands don't seem to want smarter customers, they are afraid all that extra effort will simply go to waste or benefit a competitor, not so Intelligentsia Coffee, a small chain who operate a "lab" in New York dedicated to helping people learn more about coffee.

Intelligentsia Coffee Lab

The brand offers classes for baristas, coffee and food pairing, home brewing, milk steaming and latte art, cupping, espresso and brewed coffee tasting.

If your brand was to educate people, what would it teach them?

What would your brand teach people?
What a great idea for intelligencia coffee! For the most part, I find that people like to learn like to teach. This way stories and knowledge is passed along with brand interaction and passion for whatever it may be. If my brand were to educate people, it would be something relating to health including exercise and the food we put into our bodies.

Old fashioned learning
Cranky Pressman is a commercial letterpress printing shop. A lot of younger designers are attracted to the old print medium but being totally weaned on the computer don't actually understand how ink works on paper and other traditional graphic arts basics that us oldsters take for granted. Happily they appreciate it when we offer up information to help them learn. We plan to do much more of this with our new site.
