While everyone is getting excited about Wal-Mart TV's upgrade, retailers also have an increasing variety of low-tech ammunitions available for consumer seduction.

While we all know that freshly brewed coffee can help sell a home, the same applies to goods in-store: smells sell. Charlotte, North-Carolina based Scent Air is one of the leaders in this world of sensory manipulation. Its web site contains some fascinating facts. The available scents include light leather, espresso, freshly cut grass, oatmeal raisin cookie, barbeque, pizza and skunk.

The scents need to be delivered and dispersed into the air, so Scent Air provides the "guns"; the biggest of which is the "ScentBlitz" designed to deliver ambient scents to indoor areas up to 6,000 sq ft.

Scent Air's clients include; Hershey's, Bloomingdales, Subaru, Denny's, 7-Eleven and Disney.

So consider the next time you visit your favorite retailer and you smell baked goods or coffee, it might just be a "ScentBlitz" playing tricks with your mind.
