Michael Sippey found an interesting new development at The Container Store, which has just upped the anti by offering shoppers at its 6th Avenue Store a completely new way to shop. Shoppers simply just pick up a scanner on arrival, scan the items they want to buy and then wait for them to be delivered to their homes.
It suggests that shopping as we know it could change. The idea of not using carts and not taking away our purchases could take some getting used to. Once this gets broader adoption, it's already being tested by some grocery stores, it's going to require a lot of retailer to consumer education.
