The Airbus A380 is the result of an ambitious project to try and fly 550 people long distances. A number of airlines including, Singapore, Virgin and Emirates have agreed to buy the plane that costs in excess of $300 million. This price puts it out of the reach of most individuals, but there are a few billionaires and royalty who could afford to fly the A380 as a private aircraft. It's this tiny uber-exclusive market that Lufthansa Technik has in mind with its VIP initiative that involves a co-operative agreement with Airbus to customize the A380.
The initiative utilizes the cavernous space of the A380 to create a flying palace featuring:
Main Deck
- Ceremonial Hall/Meeting Room
- Meeting rooms
- Royal lounge
- Dinning and conference areas
- Seating for the entourage
Upper Deck
- Private lounge area
- Galley and buffet
- Two guest rooms with separate bathrooms and showers
- Main VIP area: private office, bedroom, dressing area, bathroom and wellness area with steam bath and exercise machines
