It's almost impossible to imagine that there's a farm in South Central Los Angeles, but it's home to one of the largest urban farms in the country.

South Central Farmers has 350 plots on 14-acres of land that serves as a community farm for local income immigrant families who grow avocados, bananas, peaches, sugarcane and even herbs for traditional medicines.

Sadly, this land could well be turned into a warehouse, if current plans go through.

Here's a great opportunity for a corporation to step up, save the farm and protect a critical asset in a severely disadvantaged community. Any large corporations based in LA, this is your chance. Hollywood, this is a screenplay waiting to happen.

A short documentary film about the farm can be seen here.
