If traveling from A to B is not enough for you, perhaps you should try "Experimental Travel". Created by French journalist Joel Henry, the movement that is part art, part science and part experimental theater, is designed to spice up your travels.

Henry encourages travelers to seek the unorthodox in a quest to learn more about themselves and the places they visit. In short, he turns travel into a game.

Some of Monsieur Henry's suggestions include the following:

Airport travel- Spend 48 hours in an airport without getting on a plane

By Night Travel- Arrive at a place at night and leave the next day

Dodecatourism- Build a travel itinerary out of the number 12. Take a train that leaves at 12.12 get off at the 12th stop...

Slow Return Travel- Take the fastest route to a place and the slowest route back

Experimental Travel is gaining popularity as a concept, especially in markets like Europe, where low airfares make it possible for frequent travel to different countries and jaded young adults are looking for something to add to their travel experiences.

The famed travel guide publisher, Lonely Planet even has a book on the subject, written by Henry and others.
