Rewind your mental clock back to childhood and one of the fondest memories you might remember is that of PLAY-DOH, the modeling clay that might be responsible for making you the creative person you are today.

One of the wonderful by-products of the clay was the aroma, it might well have been your first natural high. Now that aroma has been bottled, packaged and made ready for your consumption. As part of PLAY-DOH'S 50th anniversary celebrations, Hasbro, the brand's owners, are making a limited edition fragrance based on the smell of the clay.

So next time someone walks into the room reeking of PLAY-DOH, don't assume they have just come from playing with their kids, instead think of them of simply wanting to escape the hassles of modern life and find themselves in the land of their infant past.

Anyone want to give us other examples of a brand smell that should be packaged and sold as a fragrance?

Swarfega, the amazingly powerful hand wash has a very distinctive smell which can only be associated with that brand. You'd be slightly mental to bottle it and wear it as a perfume though.
